What is a Mid Bunk?
Perhaps the most versatile floor plan to come out in the last several decades is the mid-bunk fifth wheel. Several manufacturers offer a mid-bunk, and most share similar features.
The bunk room is in the middle of the coach, as opposed to the more common rear location… which is probably where the clever “mid bunk” name came from! Usually, there is a loft with a bed located above the bunk room, but if this area is not needed for sleeping room it makes an excellent attic storage area.
Unlike a typical bunkhouse, the mid bunk room usually features a small sofa that folds down into a bed, and sometimes a bunk over the sofa. Across from the sofa you will find a TV and desk, making the bunk room a perfect spot to use as an office or den.
Adults often use the bunk room for working, but also find it makes a relaxing retreat when watching a game on TV. The fact that the door can be closed to hide clutter makes it perfect for a home office. Kids tell us it makes an ideal place to play video games. Wives tell us that when they are fed-up, the mid-bunk gives them a handy place to stash their husbands.**

The Roamer offers a large residential refrigerator with ice and water in the door, plus many other features that make it incredibly comfortable and convenient.
Lower Cost Option
The Forest River Sabre 36BHQ is a lower cost option of the mid-bunk fifth wheel floor plan. With an MSRP of around $60,000 (and a sale price of around $44,000!), the Sabre mid-bunk has tons to offer for the price. Automatic leveling jacks, washer/dryer prep, theater seating with massage and heat, and a tire pressure monitoring system are just a few of the fantastic features of the Sabre 36BHQ.
