Make your own Hummingbird feeder Did you know that there are five species of hummingbirds found in the state of Michigan? The five species are the Ruby-throated, Rufous, Broad-billed, Green Violet-ear, and the White-eared.  The Ruby-throated species of hummingbird is native to the area and will arrive usually around the first week of May and most will leave towards the end of September. Where as the Broad-billed hummingbirds arrive in July and leave in December.
